These instructional samples show how teachers from across the province have interpreted the redesigned BC Curriculum to plan learning experiences for their students. The committee that selected these materials recognizes that each district, school, and classroom has its own unique characteristics that should be considered in planning.

First Peoples Principles of Learning and content are included in some samples. Many of the samples make cross-curricular connections, offer choice for students and teachers, explore multiple entry points and adaptations, provide assessment ideas, and include samples of student work. Some also show how teachers have made explicit connections to the curriculum through cycles of thinking, planning, and reflection. Would you relocate to wherever your career dream takes you?

Or will you first decide where you want to live, and then choose a career? In this exercise, students will reflect on and investigate the impact of place and connections to the land on career-life planning.

As part of their investigation, students will create interview questions and interview community members. This investigation will help students reflect on the role of place in their career-life planning process.

This learning experience encourages students to reflect on who they are as writers, establish personal goals based on that reflection, and engage in a revision process that nurtures their personal growth. Students are encouraged to create personal writing plans that establish goals and concrete actions for how they can grow their proficiency in creative writing.

It is a technology-rich world, where communication is instant and information is immediately accessible. The way we interact with each other personally, socially, and at work has changed forever. Knowledge is growing at exponential rates in many domains, creating new information and possibilities.

This is the world our students are entering. To develop new models, the Ministry consulted with experts in the field. They suggested that to prepare students for the future, the curriculum must be learner-centred and flexible and maintain a focus on literacy and numeracy, while supporting deeper learning through concept-based and competency-driven approaches.

The redesign of curriculum maintains a focus on sound foundations of literacy and numeracy while supporting the development of citizens who are competent thinkers and communicators, and who are personally and socially competent in all areas of their lives. We completed a 10 day trip around Iceland the first week of August 2015. We had an awesome vacation and look forward to returning. The tailer-made trip arranged by Nordic Visitor exceeded expectations.

When we arrived Reykjavik we were greeted at airport with a welcoming package that included everything that we needed. Included was a spiral binder with our itinerary as well as suggestions for additional activities along the route.

Furthermore, we received a map with hand written suggestions and highlights. The map proved to be extremely useful and so did the hand written notes. In the packaged we also our phone for the week and vouchers. Make sure you review the vouchers and that they are for exactly what you paid for. We had one minor glitch that untimatly ended up working out in our favor.

The GPS which came with our car made navigating Iceland a breeze.

We partially like the freedom of being able to stop when ever we saw something that interested us. Nordic Visitors website makes planning a trip to Iceland very easy. All the optional tours we picked where of high quality. We partially liked white water rafting and glacier lagoon. We are strongly considering planning another trip with them.

We were exceptionally pleased with our 7-day Express Iceland self-driving tour along the Ring Road. Nordic Visitor took care of all the details, and we hit no snags whatsoever in the rental car, accommodations, airport transfers, etc.

Our Nordic Visitor representative was a master in communication - extremely prompt, helpful, and courteous. We will definitely be looking into this company again for other Scandinavian trips. It was a fabulous experience and loved everything about Greenland, especially the Ilussiat Ice Fiord and sailing among the icebergs at midnight.

The local people were very friendly and welcoming. The helicopter ride to the Ilulissat glacier was also a highlight and standing on the ice cap by the glacier was an unforgettable experience. The only hotel that we were disappointed with was in Bergen but we only had to mention it to our travel advisor Kolbrun and she immediately addressed the concern and issued us a credit.

We also left a pair of glasses at our hotel in Flam. The hotel staff must have contacted Kolbrun to let her know and she had the glasses returned to us, again great customer service. We have never had hotel staff find and return lost items before and we really felt Kolbrun was watching over us and had our back.

Kolbrun was excellent with everything, and assisted us with a train from Gothenburg to Copenhagen. I cannot fault anything with our tour experience. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE PERSONAL SERVICE AND RAPID RESPONSE TO QUERIES. I AM BASED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA AND TO BE DEALING WITH AN AGENCY IN ICELAND WAS QUITE SURREAL.

Service was turned off one full day prior. No final bill was ever received. We received 3 emails telling us equipment retrieval kits were on the way and we never received them.

I called DirecTV and after waiting for an eternity, was told their policy had just changed and they no longer send out retrieval boxes. Instead you are to take all equipment to FedEx and they will know what to do with them. We went to FedEx and waited 40 minutes while the FedEx staff figured out how to go about entering each serial number into their system in the correct place in order to ship the equipment back. When I called to express our confusion over the matter of returning the equipment, the DirecTV person I spoke with (named Lucas) hung up on me.

Now I'm trying to get a copy of our final bill. I have made 3 phone calls, the most recent one lasting 57 minutes just to be told that since we are set up to have the bills mailed U. After numerous phone calls, I was told eventually that I owed nothing and was actually owed a small refund. Well, the bills kept coming and I kept calling. Now I'm told they have no record of anyone telling me that I owed nothing. I will pay their bill and hopefully I'll be rid of this company. It is no longer worth the hours I have to spend on the phone to try and rectify the problem. Avoid this company at all costs. I was told all was fixed. Then when they came out to do the install everything was wrong. So you call about how high your bill is and they give you a break on your bill and even offer you HBO or one of what they call (premium channels).

So they tell you to call back in a year to see what they can do for you. They tell you they can give you a lesser package for less money.

I already have the second to lowest package they have. I am cancelling DIRECTV and would advise anyone not to get DIRECTV, because they do not stand by what they tell you.

I watched them play all the time, Georgia, I've seen them play all the time. There are a lot of good teams in there right now. I'm a Georgia Dawg. I see them on TV and see what kind of players they have. I think whoever wins that game will go on. They have the experience of being in the playoff so I think that would be my guess.

In this space, however, as the work week comes to an end we'll crank up the heat a bit more than usual and go off the map. Every week, our analysts will drop their boldest predictions and inevitably dance around their desks with idiotic grins if they ever happen to come true.

If said predictions go belly up, we shall never speak of them again. Alex Gelhar: Eli Manning scores more fantasy points than Dak PrescottSure, this sounds impossible, considering the fact that Eli Manning has more single-digit fantasy point outings (five) than games with 20-plus points (two).

But something tells me this is one of those weeks for the Giants. Manning, the face of their franchise for the last decade-plus is back under center. And the Cowboys, a team with more holes than the plot of "Jurassic World," are their opponents. I'm not buying Dallas' win last week over Washington.

They could be due for a letdown. And who better to serve it to them than old Eli, potentially on his way out of the division for good. Marcas Grant: Jimmy Garoppolo will be a top 10 quarterback nfl.

Bundy clarinet

Last week, Garoppolo looked poised and in command of the offense against a much better Bears defense, throwing for 293 yards (and an interception that could rightfully have been called a fumble) and moving the offense effectively. This time out, he'll have another full week of practice under his belt and that increased comfort level could translate to 300-plus yards and a couple of scores.

James Koh: Rex Burkhead, for the third week in a row, will score two touchdownsThe Patriots should control this game versus Miami pretty handily and Burkhead has become a staple in this offense. Big lead, running back, you do the math.

Miami has given up the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs over the last four weeks and while most are expecting a good game from Sexy Rexy in the Flexy, I'm boldly predicting a massive game to the tune of 100-plus total yards and two total touchdowns.

Michael Fabiano: Fabiano: Russell Wilson will score 18 or more fantasy points in Jacksonville. This might not seem that bold, but the Jaguars haven't allowed a single quarterback to hit the 18-point mark in standard scoring leagues this season.

That could have some fantasy fans worried about Wilson's prospects, but let's take a look at some of the signal-callers who have faced Jacksonville. Joe Flacco and Ryan Mallett.
